Hey y’all! My name’s Desirae.

I’m a L.A.-based writer, editor, and all-around communications enthusiast. I think language is how we make things happen in the world, and I love crafting compelling, effective stories that help clients achieve their goals.

I’ve been writing and editing in different professional capacities for over a decade, and for five years I was teaching writing at the college level. I know the mechanics of the English language backward and forward, and I’ve written for almost every conceivable medium. (I don’t have a novel… yet. The romance genre is calling me!)

But most importantly, I know that writing isn’t a thing; it’s a relationship. Good writing starts with caring about and understanding your audience, but it succeeds by evolving as the audience responds. It’s a dynamic process defined by curiosity and empathy—not by grammar. (Though, it helps to have all three. 😉)
